The Motorcycle Diaries: Discussion Questions

Here are the discussion questions for the movie. Special thanks to the PIFS team for putting on an excellent show, and Leung Kwok Hung for being guest speaker.

1. Did the books change Che Guevara, or the journey?

2. Could the experience of Che Guevara happen in today's world?

3. Will there be another Che Guevara?

Please feel free to express your views.

Motorcycle Diaries: Special Guest Speaker

PIFS are delighted to announce that the honourable Leung Kwok Hung 梁國雄,(English) legislative councilor for New Territories East, will be the special guest speaker at the screening of ‘The Motorcycle Diaries' on Friday 26 January, at the Chiang Chen Studio Theatre at 7:00 pm.

Plot Summary

Before he changed the world, the world changed him.

In 1952, one young medical student, Che Guevara, one young biochemist, Alberto Granado, and one Norton motorcycle, travelled from Argentina across Chile, Peru, Colombia and Venezuela. The movie shows two lives running parallel for a while just before graduation.

As the trip unfolds, the two young men discover more about themselves than they ever imagined possible. As he grows up and changes, Guevara clings tightly to his ideals throughout, rooting his revolutionary spirit.

Let the world change you, and you can change the world.
